Research Field

Stable isotope biogeochemistry, laser spectroscopy

Current Research

I have been working in the research field of stable isotope biogeochemistry and laser spectroscopy including technology developments. My recent research focuses on the development of the state-of-the-art laser-absorption spectroscopy to detect: (1) light element isotopologues in gas-phase from natural materials such as biogenic minerals, rocks and asteroids; (2) the structure of the rocks, minerals and biological molecules using the terahertz wave spectroscopy. For instruments, I have developed high-precision micromilling system (Geomill326: http://g326.com/) with 1 µm-spatial resolution, as well as the micro-powder collecting apparatus, which are both currently on the market world widely and contributing to various research fields.
