Current Research

Using a high-resolution general circulation model covering the entire neutral atmosphere, I have been investigating characteristics of atmospheric gravity waves and their role in the dynamics of the middle atmosphere (i.e., the stratosphere, mesosphere, and lower thermosphere). Combining data from these model simulations with satellite, atmospheric radar, and radiosonde observations, my research aims to understand phenomena in the real atmosphere with a solid theoretical foundation.
