Research Field Environmental Science, Landscape Ecology, Social– Ecological Systems Current Research I aim to understand how environments that have been shaped and maintained by human activities change over time and what states they may reach in the future. Natural environments are influenced not only by climate change and natural disturbances, but also significantly by land and resource use driven by social factors such as demographic change and policy decisions. My research focuses on Social–Ecological Systems composed of human societies and natural ecosystems, with the goal of identifying the conditions under which these systems reach critical transition points, as well as how human societies can respond to and manage such changes.
